About Beating Buffett
Like Warren Buffett, we believe in ‘Value Investing’. Unlike Mr. Buffett, who is so rich that money has ceased to matter for him, we’re still looking to make better than market returns while limiting risk.
Over 31 years of investing we’ve been refining our techniques to allow for achieving outstanding results without incurring margin interest costs. The strategic use of option sales combined with solid fundamental analysis leads to wide statistical bands of high profitability while incurring below average risk.
Our service attempts to identify stocks with well defined upside and limited risk. We then typically add the options component and clearly spell out the best-case and static returns. Break even points are identified and calculated for every suggested trade.
We constantly update company news on our featured selections. We also report on the actual net profit or loss on all closed-out positions. All short and long stock and options positions (held by the authors) are fully disclosed at the time of publication.
Where on the site is the actual positions held in the portfolio?
Dear Paul,
Have just found your site (through seeking alpha), which looks fantastic. It is amazing, with all the investment guru hype on the web, that there still are people like yourselves that want to give back to the community free of charge and help others do what they have done themselves. Kudos and thanks!
I see that you have been posting since June 2008, regularly since December 2008. Do you have any outcomes to share yet, on any of the earlier recommendations? It would be useful for those of use new to options to see how some of these actually play out and your thinking along the way (eg when you say that you look at them daily).
best wishes, eliz
Elizabeth,
Thanks for your kind words.
Two older recommendations for buy/writes have finished. Look back at the June 16, 2008 posting on Hershey (HSY)and the Dec. 25, 2008 write-up for InteractiveBrokers (IBKR)to see the final results from those trades.
I will update each subsequent trade as the terms of the options expire or until I clsoe them out earlier.
Please let any freinds or associates know about this site.
Paul
Paul,
I just saw your presentation in Las Vegas. I got in late, but was very impressed! Your strategy seems incredibly powerful, especially at this point in time when many equities can be expected to be up in next 6/12/18 months. Even though there has been a move up, it seems to be a target rich environment!
I look forward to participating. Any advice for new members?
Mike
Paul, any thoughts on CREE. Looking at buying and holding it for longer term. Appreciate if you can suggest stock/options strategy for buying CREE.
Thanks
Paul,
Thanks for inviting me to your site. I wish you much success.
Take care my friend,
Bob
Paul,
I’m following since a couple of months and I’m really love your style and explanations. Now I’ve registered in your site. I would like to study more about options. Could you suggest some useful books to read? I would appreciate your help.
Thanks!
Paul:
I follow your comments and find them very educational. I wonder if you have any suggestions regarding RIMM (Research in Motion) as I currently own shares and would not mind accumulating more.
Thank you for your insights.
I ENJOYED LISTENING TO YOUR INTERVIEW WITH THE MONEY SHOW. YOU ARE INDEED A MAN WITH GREAT WISDOM. I AM HONOURED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR COMPANY. WITH YOUR HELP, I HOPE TO EARN SOME MONEY THIS YEAR.
